Here's a few pieces from the time when I was practicing good painterly manners. 
Traditional exercises in color and form, value and composition, these works paved the pathway to true expression. My current work in freestyle portraiture is grounded in these exercises. 

As my mother used to say, "Knowing etiquette, we can disregard it."
